Near the end of 2022 and at the start of off season, I organised an online live inspirational talk. This online talk was exclusive to my students, some alumni and a few wildcards with the intention of supporting these athletes in their goals. And wow, we were in for a huge treat with our notable guest and incredible speaker: performance coach Sean Foley.
Sean Foley is one of the biggest names in golf instruction and coaching. 2018 FedEx Cup Champion, Olympian gold medalist Juston Rose, Masters Champion Danny Willet, and some incredible college players like Amari Avery are among his pupils. Lydia Ko, Anne van Dam and Tiger Woods are among his former students. He adds a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for the next generation by bringing elite golf training and a world-class experience for junior players out of Sean Foley Performance Academy at Eagles Dream in the US.
Sean Foley truly inspired us with Tour stories, deep insights and powerful lessons. My students also got the chance to ask their question. We went deep into topics like how to establish new swing techniques, strategies for a flourishing college/pro career, what it takes to perform at the highest levels of golf and of course Tiger Woods. We went off a few fun tangents.
The athletes that I coach bring 100% effort, intent and a championship mindset into each and every aspect of their training journey and so I decided that they deserved a special treat that nurtures and fuels their dreams. To provide them with new or different learning and growing opportunities. Because it honestly takes a village!
It takes a village to turn professional and pursue big college or Tour dreams. To turn professional in any sport, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes. You have to be physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared for the journey.
And in order to do so, you need to surround yourself with a group of people who believe in your dream as much as you do.
I honestly and truly believe in the transformative power of being fully committed and an all-in support. That's why I stopped offering single lessons a couple of years ago. I moved to an 12 month program commitment instead. The type of program that allowed me to triple the value for my students. Single lessons were very limiting in my experience. It was very difficult if not impossible to monitor progress in between lessons. I felt I also couldn't deliver unparalleled value with just single lessons. The single lessons model is limited for world class athletes. The focus is on quick fix and short term rather than long term. It is not sustainable. And worst of all, it doesn't actually help those athletes. My long term support/coaching philosophy (on average athletes flow between 3 and 7 years under my coaching wings) allowed for such an incredible inspirational talk at the start of the off season.
Now for a successful journey ahead with new golf athletes, it is important that there is a good fit. After my team and I review a new application or upon invitation to apply, I will have a brief interview with chosen applicants. Those who are serious about drastically improving their golf performance holistically. I will want to understand their goals and challenges.
Dedicated (aspiring) tour pros, juniors, young world amateurs and even teaching pros from across the globe are welcome to apply for my 1:1 High Performance Program. It's the only place to enter the door of my individual coaching.
